L'acide lactique a un pKa de 3,8 et le pKa est l'aspect le plus important à prendre en compte lors de la formulation d'acides. Lorsque le pKa est proche du pH, il existe un équilibre idéal entre le sel et l'acidité, ce qui maximise l'efficacité de l'acide et réduit l'irritation. Dans ce cas, un pH plus élevé augmenterait le sel, ce qui, de manière contre-intuitive, rendrait la formule encore plus irritante que si elle était plus acide.

Utilisation :Appliquer une fois par jour, idéalement en fin de journée. Peut être dilué avec d'autres traitements pour réduire la puissance jusqu'à ce que la peau développe une tolérance. Éviter le contact avec les yeux. Si l'irritation persiste, cesser l'utilisation et consulter un médecin.

Alerte aux coups de soleil : ce produit contient un acide alpha-hydroxylé (AHA) qui peut augmenter la sensibilité de votre peau au soleil et en particulier la possibilité de coups de soleil. Utilisez un écran solaire, portez des vêtements protecteurs et limitez l'exposition au soleil pendant l'utilisation de ce produit et pendant la semaine qui suit.

The Ordinary Lactic Acid 10% + HA 2% 30ml

• A very powerful lactic acid surface scrub formula.
• Lactic acid is an alpha hydroxyl acid that exfoliates the skin. 
• This 10% formulation offers gentle exfoliation and is supported by purified Tasmanian berry known to reduce the signs of inflammation and sensitivity that are often associated with exfoliation.

Contraindications : Lactic acid should not be used on sensitive, peeling or weakened skin. Please refer to the additional note on sun protection and other warnings in the instructions for use. The pH of this formula is approximately 3.8. Lactic acid has a pKa of 3.8 and pKa is the most important aspect to consider when formulating acids. When the pKa is close to the pH, there is an ideal balance between salt and acidity, which maximises the effectiveness of the acid and reduces irritation. In this case, a higher pH would increase the salt, which, counter-intuitively, would make the formula even more irritating than if it were more acidic.

Use:Apply once a day, ideally at the end of the day. Can be diluted with other treatments to reduce potency until skin develops tolerance. Avoid contact with eyes. If irritation persists, discontinue use and consult a doctor.

Sunburn warning: this product contains an alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) which may increase your skin's sensitivity to the sun and in particular the possibility of sunburn. Use sunscreen, wear protective clothing and limit exposure to the sun while using this product and for a week afterwards.
