Grandfather Ouidi lived many lives, held numerous jobs, and visited many countries, always attentive to young people and ready to offer them smiles, encouragement, and wise advice. He never seemed tired. Traveling was a constant source of joy for him. This state of mind fueled his thirst for knowledge of human beings and all living species, satisfying his curiosity through the discovery of diverse cities, villages, spaces, and territories where novelty, nature, and cultures captivated his gaze.
These travels allowed Grandfather Ouidi to collect countless stories. During the warmer months, when storms and thunder didn’t lash the village, we would eagerly run under the great baobab tree at nightfall to listen to him. The stories he told suddenly illuminated
the night, just as they illuminated us.
That’s why he was nicknamed « Black Sun. »
